Artyom Goloschapov is an artist and director from St. Petersburg. Graduated from the St. Petersburg State University and the Rodchenko Art School (Moscow). He works at the intersection of video art and experimental film, keeping interest in such classical mediums as painting, photography and total installation. Mixing these forms of art, creating digital collages, the artist creates a new acute reality. With the help of digital manipulations and language techniques of Youtube’s culture, Artyom’s work creates the impression of “hyper-real”, in which the world and its characters do not look either artificial or authentic. The very notion of “reality” remains questionable or rather vague. Combined with subtle methods of collating images, the artist tries to reconsider the relationship of a person with the world around him and his reflection. Nominee of the Innovation Award (2019), Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award (2020).
